The secret to actually changing your life this winter? It isn’t another routine, planner, or list of     resolutions.

Scrolling a little bit online lately, I’ve realized just how excited I am about this winter.
There is something about this season that feels different.
It’s something about the colder mornings and the feeling that a new chapter is around the corner. Whatever it is, there is something in the air that feels fresh and I honestly can’t wait.
I want and AM using this winter to get my life together. Like actually getting my life together.

Not in the way we usually mean when we say “new year, new me.”
I’m not interested in deciding that from time X onwards I’ll suddenly become a person who never procrastinates, never overspends and goes to the gym five times a week.
We’ve all tried that. And we know how it usually ends.

So I took some time to step back and look at the bigger picture, I wanted to understand exactly what it would take to completely reset my life this winter, and I think I figured it out.

I went through EVERYTHING.
→ The routines.
→ The habits.
→ The environment.
→ Money.
→ Career.
→ Health.
→ Self-care.
→ Mindset.
→ Goals.
The little things that make up your everyday life and the bigger things that determine where you’re actually heading, and I put it all together.

So, lucky you, you now have all of that information right at your fingertips.
If you’ve been feeling that same little urge to get your life together, take this as your sign to START.

First, Stop Trying to Change Everything at Once

When you decide that you want to reset your life, it is very easy to become overwhelmed.
You suddenly want to fix everything.
You want a new morning routine, a new workout schedule, a cleaner room, better skin, healthier hair, more money, a better career, less screen time, more confidence and better relationships.
Because you’re excited, you try to start all of it at once. Then life happens. You miss a day. Then another. Your routine becomes impossible to maintain, you feel like you’ve failed, and eventually you go back to your old habits. I know you’ve been there,
The problem isn’t necessarily that you lack discipline, but you tried to change too much without creating a system to support the change. A real reset needs a little more structure.
It starts with understanding where you are, deciding where you want to go, and then building your life around that direction.

Start With an Honest Look at Your Life

Before you start buying planners, changing your routine or creating a vision board, take a moment to look at your life as it actually is.
  How are you doing?
How do you feel physically and mentally?
Are you happy with your career or studies?
  How are your finances?
What does your environment look like?
How disciplined are you with your routines?
Are you taking care of yourself?
Are your relationships making you feel supported?

You don’t have to love every answer, in fact, that’s the point.
A reset starts with being honest about what isn’t working.
Think of it as your starting point rather than a judgment.
You can’t decide what needs to change until you know where you are starting from.

Decide What You Want Your Winter to Be About

Once you understand your starting point, decide what you actually want from the next 90 days.
Don’t try to fix every single area of your life simultaneously.
Choose the things that would make the biggest difference.
Maybe this winter is about getting serious about your career, maybe it’s about getting your health and routines back on track or maybe you want to save money, become more confident, take better care of yourself or finally create a home that feels peaceful.
Whatever it is, get specific, this is VERY important.
Ask yourself:
How do I want to feel by the end of winter?
What do I want my life to look like?
What do I want to have achieved?
What am I ready to leave behind?
And then ask yourself one more question:
Who do I need to become to live that life?
Your reset is about changing the way you operate.

Become the Version of You You’re Thinking About

We all have a picture of the person we want to become.
She’s more confident. More disciplined. More put together. She takes care of herself. She manages her money. She works toward her goals. She doesn’t spend hours scrolling when she knows she has something important to do.
Instead of only imagining her, start paying attention to her standards.
  What does she prioritize?
What does she no longer tolerate?
How does she spend her time?
What does she do when she isn’t motivated?
You don’t have to wait until you’ve “become her” to start acting differently.
You build that IDENTITY through your everyday decisions.
One choice at a time.

Now Build the Life Around It

This is the part people tend to skip.
You know what you want and you know who you’re trying to become.

But does your current life actually make that possible?
If you want to become healthier, where does movement fit into your week?
If you want to save money, what happens when you get paid?
If you want to progress in your career, when are you developing the skills you need?
If you want to take better care of yourself, have you created routines that make that easy?
This is where goals become systems, and systems are what turn intentions into everyday life.

Your life doesn’t change only because you wrote something down, it changes when your ordinary Tuesday starts looking different.

Give Yourself 90 Days

Give yourself one season.
Ninety days.
Use the first part to understand what needs to change.
Then decide what matters.
Build the routines and systems around those priorities.
And then live them long enough to see what happens.

Not perfectly, but consistently enough to collect evidence.
Eventually, you will see yourself changing. You WILL become a totally different person and people will hardly recognize you. In a good way.
You’re spending differently. Moving differently. Working differently. Taking care of yourself differently. Thinking differently and your environment looks different.

I Wanted Something to Actually Guide Me Through This

This is where my own winter reset took a different direction.
The more I planned everything out, the more I realized that I didn’t want another pretty planner sitting on my desk.
I wanted a system.
Something that would TELL ME what to look at first, what decisions to make next, what areas of my life needed attention, and how to actually take everything from an idea into my everyday life.
So I made it.
The Winter Lock-In is a 90-day system for doing exactly that.
I built it around six stages:

SEE → DECIDE → BUILD → LIVE → MEASURE → CONTINUE

You start by understanding where you are.
Then you decide what you’re building.
You create the systems that support it.
You put them into your actual life.
You look at the evidence.
And you continue what works while changing what doesn’t.

Inside, I take you through the parts of life that tend to get pushed aside when we’re busy trying to keep everything together — your routines, wellbeing, appearance, career, finances, environment, self-investment and the bigger picture of where you’re going.

You can use it with a planner, a notebook or simply your Notes app.

The point is to spend 90 days living differently, and see what happens when you stop waiting for the perfect moment to become the person you keep imagining.
